Carpenter - Little Red & Much Ado About Nothing
-
Built in blackbox style theatre
-
Set was multifunctional - a quick changeover of small set pieces (a door, bed, gate, etc.) would allow the set to switch between the two shows
-
18' stock walls were used, refaced with brick, and decorated with ivy
-
Worked on all aspects of the set - focused on flooring and platform construction
-
Worked in a team of 3 to construct two custom functional opening windows and shutters
Carpenter - Fences
-
Worked on all aspects of the set, but focused on trees - construction, detailing, painting, and installation
-
Trees were first constructed using a plywood base and top connected with a series of 2x4 supports and additional 1x to create a shape
-
The wooden frames were then covered in chicken wire attached with staples
-
The chicken wire was then covered with stretched muslin so that the paper would have something to stick on to
-
Muslin was covered in paper soaked in a glue and water mixture, which created a bark-like texture
-
Paper was sealed with roofing compound, then painted to look like trees
Carpenter - Hamlet (Will Power Tour)
-
Worked solo to interpret drawings and construct wall and door units for main platform
-
Worked with one other carpenter to install vinyl flooring to 2 4'x8' platforms
-
Assisted in the installation of all molding and trim
-
Assisted paint charge with simple painting tasks - underpainting platform, solid walls, and touch-ups
